#GullyTales: The Legend Of Banganga

#GullyTales, as the name suggests, is your one-stop-event to learn about the zones that comprise the city you call home. #GullyTales gives you the perfect H.A.L.T (Heritage, Art, Life, Tales) experience of a zone peppered with the most obscure, interesting, fascinating facts...straight from the gully upto the last cutting chai available!

Mumbai, the Maximum City, is known as the city that never sleeps. The streets spill over with traffic and people rush about to reach workplaces, targets or simply, home leaving very few places for solitude.

Banganga is that quaint pocket ensconced in a corner of this bustling city. One of the most mystical sites in Mumbai, Banganga harbours an ancient water tank considered holy and with healing powers, bathing ghats and centuries-old temples. All this right next to the Arabian Sea and in the middle of the posh Malabar Hill area of South Mumbai.

Banganga is also the oldest continuously inhabited community settlement in Mumbai. It's a melting pot of cultures originating from the communities settled here. The zone is also home to legends and tales passed down through centuries. The origin of the Banganga tank, a sweet-water reservoir despite the proximity of the sea in the vicinity, is a mystery in itself that continues to amaze devotees, pilgrims, locals and tourists alike.

The Banganga Heritage Walk will take you through this magical zone to offer a mesmerising and spiritual experience. The lanes, walls, temples, old houses and the environs of mystical Banganga come alive to relate the treasure-trove of their rich heritage and stories that transport you back in time.
